MORE SUBSTANCE,
A LITTLE LESS  SUGAR

We worked with our founder, Jude, on rebranding her art, shop and blog. Jude wanted to clarify her vision and evolve her website into a reflection of who she is now. We began as with any project by really getting to know our client and what they wanted to achieve from the rebrand.

The vision

Judy has said herself “I knew I wanted to do something creative as an outlet. To start with I had no vision or purpose. I was being pulled into too many different directions and I didn’t know what I was trying to achieve.”

Having decided for her brand to simply and confidently be her own name, Judy Andrews, she spent time thinking about her brand purpose which became:

To make others smile, think, feel inspired and believe that anything is possible

And a ‘just cause’ too:

To inspire and empower others through creativity

The logo & moodboard

The logo developed from Jude sketching which has always been a jumping off point for her ideas. The hand drawn mouth (and signature teeth) logo is her own personal identity while the expression lines represents her voice.

The moodboard for the brand developed from there, full of bold colour and graphic elements which reflect her own work. Yellow plays a key part in the brand, reflecting Jude’s own positivity and personality; the supporting neons harken back to her 90s roots. It’s a confident and arresting colour palette without being too overpowering.

The website

The next phase of the project was building the website, incorporating the new look and feel and seeing new ways to bring it to life through animation and clean design so as not to compete with the work yet with enough flex to dial up the inspiration for the journal/blog section.

I’m so very pleased with how it all turned out, I feel like I have now future proofed my brand as I now have a strong vision and creative direction. It’s even inspired me. I find that now I’m more focussed I can explore new ideas in more depth, which will ultimately make my work stronger and more meaningful.
