Cold Storage

A new kind of grocery experience for the Asian market

Following on from the fantastic success of Mercato, we were asked to create some fresh branding for another offering, Cold Storage, collaborating closely with our client and their store interiors agency.

The brief

Our client, DFI Retail Group, asked us to create new branding for mid-tier grocery supermarket brand Cold Storage. With more customers looking for a simplified in-store experience, which is calmer and easier to shop, we needed to consider how to transform the in-store environment into a welcoming, fresh space.

The Strategy & Branding

After diligent customer research, DFI Retail Group defined a specific target demographic, and sought to better understand them and cater for their needs. With Cold Storage, they wanted to offer a more elevated experience, which led us to develop some of the principles and foundations already created for the Mercato stores.

Our vision was to transform this space into a modern, fresh, tactile, and welcoming shopping environment that takes the customer on a foodie journey. Delicious photography, an elegant illustration style mixed with a neutral palette, and pop of fresh green brings everything to life.

The result

This truly is a beautiful store environment which we’re proud to say we created. It’s fresh, contemporary, and elevated yet also pleasantly inviting and inclusive.

Love the new concept. It gives the consumer a warm and inviting environment to shop in. The use of olive green as accent colour was smart and the visuals popped on a neutral background. The store uses a lot of textures which contributed to the overall ambience and shopping experience. Well done to the team in Tickety Boo!
